GEAR

You want the goods? We've got the goods—an ACTION KIT and lots of rad t-shirts that work the FLICK OFF vibe six ways from Sunday.

Our ACTION KIT is your first all-purpose-global-warming-crime-fighting tool. It's got ring bands; stickers; handouts you can toss at strangers; a book that teaches the basics on global warming; and even a stencil—so you can spread the word on the street. (We prefer chalk, not spray paint.)

The FLICK OFF Online Store is now open!!! Simply click on "STUFF" on the main menu bar, and then on "STORE" and you're in! You can also purchase FLICK OFF gear and the ACTION KIT through the  Roots Online Store: View Men's or View Women's

Can't wait another second to have your hands on some FLICK OFF stuff? Don't worry. We've got you covered. Help yourself to some free downloads with our FLICK OFF Wallpaper and FLICK OFF Flyers. Download them right here and right now!

Roots is donating net proceeds from the sale of FLICK OFF gear in its stores to Environmental Defence to fund FLICK OFF.  We’ll keep you posted on the totals as they come in.

Quote: "Roots also sells "Stop Global Warming" bracelets to raise funds for a US-based ecological organization spearheading action on that pressing matter. So far, they have raised more than $150,000 for the cause." I thought Roots was a Canadian company? Why are they supporting US based initiatives? Why won't you give the name of this "US based ecological organization". $150,000 is a really small number compared to the profit they make off these things. What percentage is that....like .0005%?

Still no response to the percentage question for the flick off bracelets... I see on the roots website that 100% of the proceeds from the stop global warming bracelets sales are donated. What about the flick off bracelets?

It is a valid question. I think it is a bit tacky for a company to USE an important issue like this as a marketing tool. The key to reducing carbon footprint is to stop buying silly things. Every t-shirt, every pair of shoes etc., adds to what you take away from the earth. If a company came out with "Children are Dying in Africa" gear.....and made huge profits off it..... Don't you think the public should know what that company is doing to save dying children? Exploiting an issue simply to make money is not cool.

Is this the page you were looking for? It appears the GEAR page has been reformatted to more of a store-type layout and no longer has space for comments. You can still find them however in the archived posts. I do agree however that it is odd that this question has been asked more than once (see above posts) and has yet to be answered.

Percentage is immaterial (pun intended)- although I haven't yet read the answer!? Any donation is more than none. BUT, while on the subject (money). . . If Money is taken out of the pollution equation the result is generally no pollution, isn't it? such as: fossil fuel emissions from cars when there has been a viable alternative for years. Everyone could come up with an example, I'm sure. Our obsession with bigger, better, more than the 'Jones' is the culprit. Saw a great sign:"if what you have isn't enough, more won't help". comments or ideas??
