We are gr. 10 high school students who have just recently been sponsored by BC Hydro. They gave us 250 packages of 3 CFL light bulbs to sell for $5, it’s like buying 1 and getting 2 free!! We tried selling it to some kids, only teachers bought :( The students were really nasty to us. We even got sworn at for trying to make a difference. We don’t understand why it’s such a big deal. Does anyone have any ideas for us to make buying CFL light bulbs more desirable?
wats up friends im sitting in class getting really bored and my teacher is spazing and my friends are being silly got to go for reases cya later
Why are people so oblivious to the enviroment, its easy to fix, just flick off
hi Dallas Hi Shayne hi Alyy, were all on the computer lab, but we have to go now!!!
hi again:] well more things to say... I finally understand how deadly Global Waring is, all of the Polar bears that die a year are incredibly horrible. my friend told me that polar bears should be exctinc in 2050:( WE have to help out, TURN OFF EVERYTHING THAT YOU don't use, Flick off!
So whenever I leave my house I always try to turn all the lights off. but the other people that live here too don't like to do that b/c it looks like no one is home..
we live in a very safe neighbour hood...and no one around us has ever been robbed.
How should I convince them that turning off the lights is better for the environment then to worry about our house looking empty?
I'm seriously deathly afraid of global warming and what could happen, I seriously don't want to die from a flood or something or even if I have kids I don't want them to go through that.
I try to do my best with helping with it and everything and even trying to spread the word, but sometimes when I try to tell people about it I feel like i'm just annoying them. Like for example I was at my cousins and saw her throwing out all this stuff that could be recycled and I was like why aren't you recycling it and she was like whats the point, and then I was like because to help stop global warming. Then I started telling her how the earth can get flooded because of it and everything and shes like thats so depressing don't talk about that, but i'm just trying to tell the truth you know to maybe prevent it. Its so hard when no one cares, and then I keep telling my sister to turn off the lights when she leaves a room even if shes going back into it like 2 minutes later and shes like yeah okay little miss global warming. It makes me so angry. Then on the radio a couple months ago I heard this advertisement for scuba diving and then it was something like "global warming is coming you better learn to scuba dive!" or something like that, and they said it in such a happy voice too like is this some kind of a joke.
I honestly hope more things get flooded just to wake people up more, I know thats a horrible thing to wish but yeah.
hey i'm a 14 year old and i go to school and probably use more then i should in resources that we are running out of and my family isn't really big on really doing anything and i watch that movie with al gore and you know whaat it really scared me. like will i or my children live in a terrible world. and i'm just really scared but sometimes i feel like theres nothing i can really do
If you live in a house with alot of people who leave their lights on like mine (or they used to) i have a great idea that seems to work, print or make up a whole bunch of little 'Flick Off' signs and tape them right above the light switches. trust me it gets thier attention. i have really gotten into teh flick off thing, i bought the shirt and wear it around my house alot. its a great idea to get people attention. i didnt realize how much energy i wasted untill i started thinking about it, i never udes to turn off the computer at night, i would leave all the lights on in the house if i was in one room, and sometimes have several lights on at night when i was sleeping. it was pointless. the flick off campain really changed me. thank you
